Deel is an Employer of Record (EOR) and a global payroll platform. Companies use it to hire, pay, and manage international contractors and full-time employees without setting up local entities.
Alex Bouaziz, Shuo Wang, and Ofer Simon founded the company in 2019. Deel is headquartered in San Francisco and has raised more than $980 million in seven funding rounds.
The platform is now valued at $17.3 billion.

What stood out in my tests
In my tests of the platform, the onboarding stood out for its simplicity and speed.
In most cases, contracts are generated automatically based on the country, reviewed right on the platform, and approved in a few steps.
What it means for clients: Deel clients can hire in established markets within days. They’re also likely to find better contract standardization, clear compliance guidance, and faster onboarding compared to smaller regional providers.

Deel manages work permits and visa sponsorship in more than 70 countries using their own immigration team. That includes long-term work visas and short-term business travel visas.

Deel packages are more granular than I typically see in the industry, so this section on pricing and rates is atypical.
You can buy EOR services alone, add contractor management, layer on payroll for your own entities, or pick any combination that fits your setup. Each service has its own flat monthly rate with no setup fees or long-term contracts required.
Before getting into the core services, it’s worth noting a few less common products.
These include:
- Contractor of Record: $325 per contractor per month. Deel manages contractor payroll, compliance, and misclassification risk in countries where you have entities.
- US PEO: $95 per employee monthly. This is a co-employment model with benefits administration and compliance support for US-based teams.

What is the user experience of Deel like?
Deel feels easy to use, but it never feels simplistic (which can happen in this space).
What works well
These are the areas that I like most:

- Clear dashboard: Contracts, payments, and open tasks show up in one view.
- Fast search: Finding people or documents takes seconds.
- Worker self-service: Employees and contractors can manage their own details, time off, and payouts.
- Flexible payments: Bank transfers, PayPal, Wise, crypto, and the Deel Card are all supported.
- Centralized compliance: Contracts, tax forms, and required documents stay organized in one place.
Learning curve and trade-offs
Most everyday tasks are intuitive right away.
However, I’d say the more complex scenarios (like custom benefits) take longer and can feel confusing at times.
The desktop experience is the strongest.
The mobile app works well for quick checks and approvals, but it’s not designed for heavy admin work.
With the recent changes in mind, I can see this evolving in the future.
How is the customer support at Deel?
Deel provides 24/7 support through chat, email, and phone.
The platform includes a help center with detailed articles and an AI assistant that handles about half of all support requests in over 50 languages.
Enterprise clients get dedicated Customer Success Managers with direct contact details. That’s the highest level of support you can get as a Deel client.
Deel reports that 91% of issues are resolved in the first interaction.
What I found in my testing
In my testing, support agents demonstrated solid technical knowledge and handled compliance discussions with care. Plus, support quality across time zones is generally consistent.
I’ve seen users mention that demand spikes in January and September can push response times beyond those advertised.
Personal note: I don’t have enough data to support or challenge the 91% first-contact resolution figure, but based on how Deel support performs on basic issues, it doesn’t feel out of line.

Deel launched iOS and Android apps in August 2024. The apps handle most employee and manager tasks on the go.

User feedback and room for improvement
The app has high scores on both the App Store and Google Play (4.9 and 4.6, respectively) across thousands of reviews.
The app handles self-service and approvals well, but complex admin tasks are still reserved for the desktop version.
That’s not new; I’ve said it multiple times, and it’s true for most providers’ apps.
I’ve also seen a few users mention the following issues:

Deel expanded its analytics and reporting in late 2025. The platform moved away from static exports and added real-time dashboards and self-service reporting.
It’s my impression that the improvement is real and tangible; it adds visibility across payroll, workforce, and compliance data.

At the center is a remade report builder.
Users can create custom tables and visuals across HR, payroll, benefits, and expenses. Reports can be filtered by country, department, or worker type.
