What are the features of Deel?
I’m giving a 9.4 here because the platform covers nearly every core need, including some that other providers don’t.
Deel provides a full set of tools for managing international employment, with more “granular” options than most platforms I tested.
Below is an overview of the main features:

Deel processes payroll in 120+ currencies across 150+ countries with withdrawal options including bank transfers, Revolut, Wise, PayPal, and crypto. The payment dashboard shows exactly what each person receives after local tax deductions.
Allow clients to hire full-time employees without establishing their own legal presence. Deel handles employment contracts, onboarding, tax registration, and mandatory benefits in each country.
Deel legally employs contractors on your behalf and assumes liability for any misclassification claims.
The platform generates localized contractor agreements and handles payments in 150+ countries. Tax forms such as 1099s are created automatically.
Deel tracks regulatory changes across all countries and automatically updates the contract templates.
The platform offers health insurance, retirement plans, and stipends tailored to each country. The client can customize packages through the dashboard while Deel ensures mandatory benefits are always included.

What is the geographic coverage of Deel?
Deel lands at a 9.1 for coverage. For most use cases, the 150-country reach is enough, even if some competitors cover a few dozen additional countries.
Deel covers 150+ countries for hiring and contractor payments. They run about 250 legal entities worldwide and handle payroll in 120+ currencies.

Deel manages work permits and visa sponsorship in more than 70 countries using their own immigration team. That includes long-term work visas and short-term business travel visas.
For example, if you need to hire a software engineer in Germany and sponsor their visa, Deel manages both the employment contract and the work permit application through the same platform.
What it means for clients: You can hire in most major markets and handle visa sponsorship without setting up local entities or managing multiple immigration vendors.

How much does Deel cost?
At $499, the EOR price lands in our upper-mid tier, rated 8.7. I deducted 0.1 because contractor management rates are higher than the industry average.
Deel packages are more granular than I typically see in the industry, so this section on pricing and rates is atypical.
You can buy EOR services alone, add contractor management, layer on payroll for your own entities, or pick any combination that fits your setup. Each service has its own flat monthly rate with no setup fees or long-term contracts required.
Before getting into the core services, it’s worth noting a few less common products.
These include:
- Contractor of Record: $325 per contractor per month. Deel manages contractor payroll, compliance, and misclassification risk in countries where you have entities.
- US PEO: $95 per employee monthly. This is a co-employment model with benefits administration and compliance support for US-based teams.
- US Payroll: Custom pricing; covers domestic payroll processing for companies with US entities.
- HRIS: $5 per employee monthly. Gives you access to the core HR platform with onboarding, time off, document management, and org charts.
- Deel Engage: $20 per employee monthly; used for performance reviews, feedback cycles, and learning tools.
- Deel IT: $99 monthly base; used to automate device management, software provisioning, and IT compliance.
- Immigration: Covers visa sponsorship and work permit support in 70+ countries (custom quotes needed for rates).

What is the user experience of Deel like?
I’m giving Deel 8.4 in this category, not because it’s lacking, but because I’ve seen better. Overall, the user experience is good, and the limitations mainly affect advanced use cases.
Deel feels easy to use, but it never feels simplistic (which can happen in this space).
What works well
These are the areas that I like most:
Guided onboarding: New hires are added step by step (includes country-specific requirements).
Clear dashboard: Contracts, payments, and open tasks show up in one view.
Fast search: Finding people or documents takes seconds.
Worker self-service: Employees and contractors can manage their own details, time off, and payouts.
Flexible payments: Bank transfers, PayPal, Wise, crypto, and the Deel Card are all supported.
Centralized compliance: Contracts, tax forms, and required documents stay organized in one place.
Learning curve and trade-offs
Most everyday tasks are intuitive right away.
However, I’d say the more complex scenarios (like custom benefits) take longer and can feel confusing at times.
The desktop experience is the strongest.
The mobile app works well for quick checks and approvals, but it’s not designed for heavy admin work.
With the recent changes in mind, I can see this evolving in the future.
How is the customer support at Deel?
Support is fast and solves most issues on the first try. Complex compliance questions and peak hiring periods slow things down, which lowers the score a few fractions of a point.
Deel provides 24/7 support through chat, email, and phone.
The platform includes a help center with detailed articles and an AI assistant that handles about half of all support requests in over 50 languages.
Enterprise clients get dedicated Customer Success Managers with direct contact details. That’s the highest level of support you can get as a Deel client.
Deel reports that 91% of issues are resolved in the first interaction.
What I found in my testing
In my testing, support agents demonstrated solid technical knowledge and handled compliance discussions with care. Plus, support quality across time zones is generally consistent.
I’ve seen users mention that demand spikes in January and September can push response times beyond those advertised.
Personal note: I don’t have enough data to support or challenge the 91% first-contact resolution figure, but based on how Deel support performs on basic issues, it doesn’t feel out of line.
What integrations does Deel offer?
I’m giving Deel 8.8 out of 10 for integrations because it covers the accounting and HR platforms most companies use and offers an API when native connections aren’t enough.
Deel connects with accounting, HR, identity, and collaboration tools through 100+ pre-built integrations.
Below, I’ll go over the main native integrations and what they do for clients.
Accounting integrations
Platforms: NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero
What they do: Sync invoices and journal entries in both directions. When you approve payroll in Deel, the invoice data flows to your accounting system automatically.
HRIS platforms
Platforms: Workday, BambooHR, Hibob, UKG, SAP SuccessFactors
What they do: Keep employee profiles, compensation details, and time-off balances current across systems without manual updates.
Identity management
Platforms: Okta, Microsoft Entra, JumpCloud
What they do: Handle user provisioning automatically. When you hire someone, Deel creates their accounts. When they leave, access gets removed across connected systems.
Collaboration tools
Platforms: Slack, Microsoft Teams
What they do: Send real-time notifications for contract signings, payment approvals, and expense updates.
Expense and equity
Platforms: Expensify, Ramp, Brex, Carta
What they do: Automate expense reimbursements and manage global equity with vesting schedules.
API access
Deel provides a REST API (Application Programming Interface) for custom integrations. An API lets developers connect Deel to other software the company uses if it’s not among the native (pre-built) integrations.
For example, new hires approved in Deel can trigger account creation in an internal system not covered by native integrations.
To help developers use the API, Deel provides documentation and a sandbox for testing.
In my view, that’s a real upside because it’s practical and shows attention to customer needs.
What it means for clients: With systems connected, there’s less manual work across payroll, HR, and accounting. Data stays consistent without switching tools or re-entering details.
What about Deel's mobile app?
A 9.0 is one of the highest scores I’ve ever given in this category. The design of the app strikes a good balance between simplicity, quick access, and scope of features (particularly for a fairly new app).
Deel launched iOS and Android apps in August 2024. The apps handle most employee and manager tasks on the go.
Employees can use the app to:
Transfer funds to bank accounts or Deel Card
View and download payslips and invoices
Submit expenses with receipt uploads
Request and track time off
Browse company perks
Receive push notifications for contracts and payments
Managers can use the app to:
Approve contracts, payments, and onboarding alerts
Review and approve time sheets
Use tap-to-approve for desktop logins (as a security token)
User feedback and room for improvement
The app has high scores on both the App Store and Google Play (4.9 and 4.6, respectively) across thousands of reviews.
The app handles self-service and approvals well, but complex admin tasks are still reserved for the desktop version.
That’s not new; I’ve said it multiple times, and it’s true for most providers’ apps.
I’ve also seen a few users mention the following issues:
Slow loading times, especially when uploading documents
Expense submissions taking longer than expected
The time tracker being hard to reach from the main dashboard
What analytics and reporting features does Deel include?
Deel reporting covers daily payroll and workforce well, but more advanced analytics might require external tools. For me, that’s an 8.7 out of 10.
Deel expanded its analytics and reporting in late 2025. The platform moved away from static exports and added real-time dashboards and self-service reporting.
It’s my impression that the improvement is real and tangible; it adds visibility across payroll, workforce, and compliance data.
Core reports and capabilities
At the center is a remade report builder.
Users can create custom tables and visuals across HR, payroll, benefits, and expenses. Reports can be filtered by country, department, or worker type.
Results appear as charts, KPI tiles, or pivot tables.
Deel groups reporting into a few main areas:
Payroll and finance reports show gross-to-net payroll, country-level costs, and spend changes over time.
Headcount and workforce views cover onboarding, offboarding, and retention.
Time and attendance summaries include time off and tracked hours.
DE&I dashboards cover workforce distribution.
Immigration tracking allows clients to track visa statuses and timelines.
Deel AI and advanced insights
Deel also includes AI-assisted reporting.
Deel AI can answer payroll and compliance questions, generate reports, and surface trends around time off or benefits.
Specifically, salary benchmarking helps compare pay across countries. Compliance reports keep contracts and tax documents organized and ready in case of an audit.
What it means for clients: Reporting covers most day-to-day needs; payroll, costs, and workforce changes are easy to review directly in Deel. However, advanced workforce analytics are still less detailed than what some competitors offer (such as Rippling or Papaya Global).

I’m giving Deel a solid 9.0 here, mainly for strong encryption, access controls, device management, and 24/7 monitoring.
Deel’s security program is built around encryption, access management, ongoing monitoring, and periodic testing.
Below, I’ll break down these main components.
Data protection
Data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.2. The platform runs on AWS infrastructure with primary operations in Ireland and disaster recovery in France.
Access control
Access is controlled by role, so only the right people see sensitive data.
Single sign-on works with tools like Okta, and multi-factor authentication adds another step for logins and financial actions.
Monitoring and testing
A Security Operations Center runs 24/7 monitoring through SIEM tools (security information and event management). These track activity and flag suspicious patterns.
Deel conducts regular penetration and vulnerability testing using third-party firms and has a public disclosure program that shows the results.
Device security
Deel IT provides mobile device management and endpoint protection through JumpCloud and CrowdStrike. IT teams can remotely lock or wipe lost devices across 130+ countries.
